St. Damian 2017 Variety Show
Save Fred! The 5th-8th grade students were given the challenge to save poor Fred the Worm from drowning! Fred was boating on the Great Lakes when a gush of wind capsized his boat. He was left stranded on the top of his boat with no life preserver and he can't swim! The students had to work with a partner to get Fred's life preserver from under the boat and get Fred in it...but there is a twist! They couldn't use their hands, they had to save him using paper clips!
Rockets, Rockets, Rockets! The preschool - 8th grade engineers built straw rockets and learned how rockets are powered. The 6th - 8th grade students researched and wrote a paper on the history of rockets.
Snowman Snowball Toss Game The preschool and Kindergarten Engineers created a Snowman Snowball Toss Game. They created the snowman cups and competed to see which team could get the most golden snowballs in the cups.
Valentine Heart Challenge The St. Damian Engineers in grades Pre-K through 5th grade were challenged to build a stable structure out of Valentine Heart Candy. They had to work with their partners and compete against their classmates to build the tallest structure.

What can you make with an egg carton?
The St. Damian Engineers tested GRAVITY with hand made parachutes. They concluded that a parachute that weighed more has more mass and will fall to the Earth quicker than a parachute that was lighter with less mass.
